AIM ONE Focus on Documentation
AIM ONE: To identify
and document existing effective programmatic practices among CCHF-related
ministries.
What has happened so far?
To date, CCHF has received more than two dozen abstracts from
over a dozen different ministries. A number of them were initially
identified as Best Practices and have been fully documented in
a standard format. DOWNLOAD FULL DESCRIPTIONS
OF DOCUMENTED BEST PRACTICES IN CHRISTIAN HEALTH CARE.
We continue to solicit your ideas for Best Practices! Please consider
proposing any activities, services or ideas you have developed
to address the issues you face in serving the poor. We are especially
looking for models of how faith is integrated into health care.
Examples might include a description of a unique partnership between
the faith community and a health care organization or describing
how a church is promoting the delivery of wholistic health care.
Best Practices can vary in type and scope ranging from:
· a full practice that provides care for refugees
· an outreach program for the homebound elderly patients
· a health promotion poster
· a description of the significance of the longevity of
providers in one rural practice
Why should your health
care ministry participate?
· Improvement: The Best Practices initiative will create
a programmatic collaboration including many CCHF affiliated ministries.
Your clinic will benefit by benchmarking and learning about the
best practices across the country.
· Resources: By documenting your successful programs in
a standard format, CCHF can offer your model to other ministries
around the country interested in replicating or adapting your
work to their specific context.
· Spreading the word: As we work together to show how faith
makes a difference in obtaining improved health care outcomes,
CCHF believes many secular health centers will take note and God
will be glorified.
What will be expected
of your health care ministry?
· Propose an innovative or noteworthy idea according to
the ABSTRACT GUIDELINES attached
and send it to CCHF.
· If your abstract is identified as a Best Practice, you
will provide a more extensive description of the program and work
with the CCHF staff to complete the documentation in a standard
format.
What resources will CCHF
provide for your health care ministry?
· Technical Assistance: You will receive substantial coaching
from CCHF's Best Practices staff. If necessary, the staff will
visit your site to assist with completing the documentation.
· Workshops: You will be invited to attend 2 Workshop Sessions
per year, (including an upcoming Conference on November 12, 2001!)
to help with your planning. CCHF will provide a stipend to defray
your travel expenses.
· Program Funding: CCHF will be working to identify potential
areas of funding to support your initiatives.
How does your health care
ministry sign up?
· Submit a Proposal: Write a 1-2 page abstract according
to the ABSTRACT GUIDELINES.
