Katy White, MD, Board Chair
Katy White is a staff physician at Los Angeles Christian Health Centers. For years she worked in a secular community health center. She and her husband, Bill have a vision to start a clinic in Compton, CA. She has a passion to help Christian providers who are serving Christ in secular settings find the encouragement and strength they need to continue their difficult work.
"My goal this year is to personally mentor 2 students who want to grow in their relationship with Christ and follow Him in and through healthcare. I also plan to develop a daily and weekly prayer routine laying the burdens of healthcare among the poor at Jesus' feet, and grow in trusting Him with outcomes at our clinic, in our neighborhood, through CCHF and throughout the country."
Robert Campbell, MD, Vice Chair
Robert Campbell is a family medicine physician and co-founder of Christ Community Health Services - Augusta, in Augusta, GA. In addition to his duties as Vice-Chair, Dr. Campbell chairs the Governance Committee, which oversees the mission and values of CCHF.
"This year I plan to intentionally grow in my prayer life. I am committing to pray for the leadership of CCHF daily."
Shantelle Leatherwood, MHA, Board Secretary
Shantelle Leatherwood is the Practice Administrator for Christ Community Health Services in Memphis, TN. Shantelle and her husband, Charles, have served in healthcare, community development, discipleship and church planting.
Bruce Miller, MHA, Board Treasurer
Bruce Miller is the CEO of Lawndale Christian Health Center in Chicago, IL. Bruce was one of the early pioneers in Christian community health, having worked with John Perkins in Mississippi in the very earliest days of CCHF.
"Long-term, my focus is to do my part to help Lawndale Christian Health Center become a more spiritually vibrant organization while growing in size and impact. This year I want to grow more in living out the words of Isaiah 40:31, putting my hope in the Lord, waiting upon his winds as I seek to serve."
Wayne Aoki, PhD
Wayne Aoki is the Mental Health Director at Los Angeles Christian Health Center. He is a graduate and former professor of psychology at Fuller Graduate School of Psychology. Wayne chairs the Strategic Planning Committee, which is responsible for planning the future focus of CCHF.
"There are many physicians providing pro bono care, moved by their compassion and faithfulness in following Christ, and I want them to know that they do not labor alone. I want to strengthen our community of healthcare providers to be a tangible, living testimony, that Christ is alive and our marginalized communities are not forgotten."
Wayne Detmer, MD
Dr. Wayne Detmer is Medical Director of Operations at Lawndale Christian Health Center in Chicago. Wayne Wayne and his family live in the Lawndale community on Chicago's west side.
"I hope to help Christians recognize the privilege and responsibility that Christ has given His Church to care for the poor through the practice of medicine. This year I personally want to know Christ more deeply. Everything flows from that knowledge. We cannot “do Christian healthcare” if we do not know Christ."
Rick Donlon, MD
Dr. Rick Donlon is a med-peds doc, and the co-founder and co-director of Christ Community Health Services in Memphis, TN. In 2011 Rick founded a residency track of the UTHSC-Saint Francis Family Medicine Residency in Memphis that focuses on underserved and international missions. Rick has dedicated himself to challenge and inspire students, residents, clinics, and residency programs to express their service to Christ by embracing sustained careers in primary care among the underserved, incarnational living among the poor and church planting
"This year I want to grow in intimacy with God, in humility, and in self-control. Growth in those areas will facilitate my work within our movement."
Susan Post, MA, MBA, DMin
Susan Post is the Executive Director for Esperanza Health Center in Philadelphia, PA. She has over 20 years experience in health care administration with major health systems. She has earned her Doctor of Ministry in Urban Ministry. Susan lives in the Hunting Park community of north Philadelphia.
Matt Rafalski, MD
Dr. Matt Rafalski is a staff physician at Dayspring Health Center in Jellico, TN. Originally from the New Jersey/ Pennsylvania area, he has trained and served in Appalachia since 1996.
Bob Sayson, MD, ABIM
Dr. Sayson is an internal medicine doc who had a successful private practice for 15 years. After making a number of overseas medical mission trips, he realized the same needs in his home city of Portland, OR and started Good News Community Health Center in 2005. Dr. Bob likes to say that he used to practice internal medicine, but now practice eternal medicine. Bob and his family live in Gresham, OR.
Rhonda Switzer, D.M.D.
Dr. Rhonda Switzer is the Executive Director of Interfaith Dental Clinic in Nashville, TN. Rhonda is Canadian born and trained, and has spent her entire career providing dental services to the poor and the underserved in Canada, Bermuda, and ultimately, middle Tennessee. During her tenure, Interfaith Dental has grown from a two-chair operation located in a church basement to a ten-chair clinic with a staff of 22, providing more than $2.5 million in care each year in an expanded 7,500 square foot facility. She is an avid sportswoman with a 3 golf handicap and a top scorer in her co-ed ice hockey team.
Grace Tazelaar, RN, MS
Grace Tazelaar is the National Missions Director for Nurses Christian Fellowship, and oversees NCF in the Great Lakes and the Southeast. Grace has been a pioneer in Christian healthcare for the poor, serving in the Mississippi Delta in the very earliest days of our movement.
Grace's personal mission is to “To demonstrate God's love for the poor and underserved through nursing both in the United States and abroad. "A close friend gave me a book for Christmas entitled One Thousand Gifts that describes the transformative work that grace and gratitude can bring into our lives. This year I am committed to live a life of gratitude not only for the “big” things God has done in my life, like paying for my sin, but also for the “little” things he gives us daily."
Steve Noblett - Executive Director
Steve has been the Executive Director of CCHF since 2007.
“There is no greater field of need or opportunity than among the underserved. Christian healthcare to the poor is a major key in helping the church reconnect the world with the message of Christ and His Kingdom.” In addition to his work with CCHF, Steve and his wife, Victoria, work with urban youth in inner-city Memphis. He is an elder in a network of house-churches, and is helping to pioneer a Christian community development corporation. Steve and Victoria have two grown daughters and a son, all of whom love Jesus, and are committed to serving Christ by serving others.
"This year I want to personally develop a clearer and honest theology of mission, health and healing. I want to better practice self-denial in order to recover a whole-hearted devotion to Christ, and read something new on grace and on the kingdom of God."
