Tell us about God's specific call on your life for the gospel and care for the poor.
Growing up, I attributed any positive thing that occurred in my life to luck. It wasn’t until I started at Jericho Road that I realized that luck had nothing to do with the direction my life had taken. Eight years ago, I came to know God for myself. I developed such a deep and personal relationship with Him and subsequently watched my life transform and improve in every aspect. I truly believe that I have been called to serve God’s most vulnerable and marginalized people, both inside and outside of the doors of Jericho Road. It is an assignment that I have joyfully accepted and I live it out on a daily basis, both my professional and personal life.
How has being involved in CCHF impacted your life?
For me, CCHF is the equivalent of a governance board that allows one to see what it truly means to practice Christian medicine. I have attended several CCHF conferences and I’ve always walked away with a renewed sense of purpose and energy to do this challenging but rewarding work. Meeting people of like minds and goals, building relationships and having time to fellowship with guests and members is always inspiring.
What is your life verse?
Proverbs 3: 5-6 (KJV) – “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.” - I am constantly reminded of this verse during both joyful and challenging occasions. This verse has provided me with such an incredible sense of peace with the knowledge that our Lord is watching over and protecting us at all times.
